    help.. i have 3 hours of SLR footage from various cameras and i put all the footage on 7 different tracks (in case i needed different color correction for the different camera’s)lets call this file 7rushes. i then imported this .veg into a new vegas project, applied a timecode to the complete track and issued the 3 hours rushes to my client, i then started editing this footage, my edit01 worked and saved brilliantly, i am now at edit06 (saved as a different .veg filename (but still built on the original 7 track .veg), and the performance is terrible, even on my monster edit machine, when i go back to edit 01 or my orginal 7rushes again it works perfect. bottom line i now have a final edit for the client but i cant add colour correction or transitions and play back realtime from the timeline to the client, as the performance is so bad, has anyone any ideas as allot of effort has been put into this edit… sorry for the long winded scenario, thanks in advance, dec

    Nested projects takes a bit more resource to process, so therefore
    most of the time real-time playback wont be possible, no matter how
    powerful your system is.

    What is your nesting structure.

    7rushes -> edit1 -> edit2 -> edit3 ?

    Something like that? Projects nested into projects, nested into projects, or just one level of nesting?

    7rushes -> edit1
    7rushes -> edit6

    Projects nested into projects, nested into projects
    That would bring any system to a crawl.

    second structure norman,

    rushes7 edit 1
    rushes7 edit 6

    i am going to try to use the media manager to reconstruct the edit 6 from the original rushes7 file and cut and paste into a new timeline, this should work, thanks for the help, dec
