    FCP 10.2.3

I am having trouble with FCP X’s cropping setting. I have a project (really, a compound clip which contains a bunch of edits) which is 16:9 1080p (consisting of three 16:9 1080p nested compound clips chained together) and I want to crop the top and bottom, creating a letterbox effect on the whole project before I watch the final outcome and master. So I bring the project into a new one and apply a crop to the nested project. All is good except for one part (compound clip) of the project, the third one: the crop comes along with rotations which had been applied in the original edit (compound clip) inside, so the letterbox also rotates. This clearly seems a bug, but can anyone shed some light on this?
I know I can export a FCP master and THEN apply the crop, but I would like to watch the final outcome before mastering.

This bug appears before I render as well as after.

Instead of cropping you can use Alex4D Widescreen Matte above the clips:

    Thanks!
I checked the link, but found only How-to info and thumbnails, where can I download the plugin? Is it free?

OK, found it, apologies. A little hidden there, among the install instructions.
    Many thanks!
