Need Vertical Aspect for Tradeshow Projection
Experts, this novice needs some help quickly!
A video loop must be produced for a DLP projection onto a 8.9 foot tall by 4 foot wide screen. (XGA projector area of 345:768 pixels). I have 4:3 SD and 16:9 HD footage shot in their normal frame sizes that will be incorporated. How is the best way to handle this? Cropping each clip or simply masking the left and right sides like a custom pillarbox?
What standard frame resolution should be used assuming that the XGA projector has a native format of 1024×768?

You bet I can hang on! Thanks T. There has been a revision for the active media area (now at 720×1280) which offers familiar numbers but still in the vertical orientation.

Although I didn’t know about your project before I recorded it, I walked through an example of making a project for a vertically mounted 720p display. 😉
