    Hello There!

I’m trying to follow this tutorial by Jon Okerstrom: https://library.creativecow.net/articles/okerstrom_jon/crown.php

I can get most of the way through and have the basic round crown shape, but when its time to mess with the transparency maps and cut the shapes out of the crown stuffs not happening.
The screenshots on the tutorial are too old to match my version of Invig Pro, and I can’t open his ae file since its so old as well.

I was just wandering if anybody might be able to do an updated version of this tutorial with CC 2015 and Invigorator Pro 8.6?

    Thank You
    Don H

    Hi Don,

Thanks for the suggestion. We’ll create a similar tutorial soon using the new v8.6!

    Hey Don,

The tutorial is done and up online! You can watch it here: https://zaxwerks.com/training/tutorial124

Since the program has changed so much over the years, we actually create this crown in a different way than Jon Okerstrom did. However this way is a lot easier now since Invigorator comes with more powerful tools.

If you have any questions be sure to let me know.

    Hey Alex

Thanks so much for putting this up…it works flawlessly!!

I do have just one question though…I used the second way that you showed, the one using the an ai file,
and I would like to know how to get the rim around the bottom of the crown like it shows at the beginning
of the video at about five seconds in.

    Thanks Again
    Don

    Hi Don,

No problem at all. The bottom black rim is just a rectangle that I drew at the bottom of the crown in the Object Drawing panel. In the resource files that you can download with this tutorial is a project that already has the rim setup for you. Please take a look at that.
