  • Need Two DVD Architect Files If Bluray & DVD Desired?

My video is always high def but I usually want both a final Bluray for myself & DVD copies to share. I use Sony Vegas Studio 10 with DVD Architect. After editing, adding titles, & adding chapter markers, I use “Make Movie” twice – once for Blu-ray & again for DVD. The video & sound files get rendered for each and then open in DVD Architect. Once in DVD Architect, I have to create the menus, screen selections, etc. for both the Blu ray version & the DVD version. I want them both the same and want to avoid having to create the menu structure twice. Is it possible to create the menu design once & use it with both the Blu Ray render & the DVD render? Both renders are exactly the same with chapter markers created within Vegas before the render. It’s a real pain having to create the same menu structure twice.

    Thanks,
    Rick

Yes, all you have to do is create the Blu-ray version first. Once you’ve rendered that, switch the DVD Architect project to DVD mode and swap out the Blu-ray media for the DVD media. To do this, double-click the media file in the left pane to make it the main video. Then use Edit | Set Media… to switch to the DVD version of the video file and render again as a DVD.

Fantastic….I’ll give it a try next time (already wasted my own time yesterday re-creating the menu structure). Thanks!
