When capturing DV in Pro 8, how do I turn off the clip feature so I can get a track of my desired length?

Also, when capturing, how can I save the footage directly and automatically to an external drive without having it default to the clip explorer?

    Thanks!

In VidCap, go Options > Prefs > Capture and de-select “Enable DV scene detection”.
The drawback now is that, unless you use the Batch Capture feature, you’ll have to manually start and stop the recording.

TO save to a different location in VidCap, go Options > Prefs > Disk Management and choose the desired location.
Keep in mind that VidCap defaults to the last used location so make sure to change locations the next time if you want to.
What I do is create a “captured files” folder in the project I’m currently working on.
When I start a new project, I make a new master folder, create a new “captured files” folder and capture to that location.
