  • Need to get info off a home made DVD!

Posted by Phil Lebeau on September 29, 2012 at 1:49 am

I am doing a memorial video for a friend. They have a dvd that has vhs footage on it.

I need to get part of the video off the dvd (with audio) and put it on a new dvd with a photo montage.

I think it was done with a Sony DVD recorder. Probably one of those VHS to DVD recorders.

The folder looks like it is locked and I cant see any files in the DVD.

Do you know how I can get around this? I have attached a pic of what the folder looks like.

    Thanks for your help.

I have an IMAC with 10.6.8 and I was going to use premiere to edit.

Cant even take a screen shot with DVD player open…. geez!

I think that will do it. I had to open stream clip first and then pick Open DVD.

I was looking for files on the dvd but nothing was showing up. Thanks for the help!

    Phil,
if the DVD was created using one of these DVD-Recoder (consumers) and the disk haven´t been finalized you wont be able to see anything on your computer.

no data on disc, neither any video within the software-player.

the disc needs to be finalized first, too if you would like to use streamclip.

    cheers
