need to get alpha channel.
I am cutting a magazine cover with Adobe illustrator. Then I need to bring it into Motion to get the alpha channel so that when I bring into FCP I can key it over video. HELP

Not sure if I fully understand you, but would it not be easier to bring the file directly into Final Cut Pro. As long as the colours are RGB based it should accept the alpha.

Export the motion project as a “lossless with alpha” movie and the alpha travels with it
