I am currently using Adobe Premiere Pro and Encore for my DVD authoring. I will need to author many 10-12 hour DVD packages (hopefully ending up onto 6 DVDs or less if I can get a stable dual layer process to work) and Adobe Media Encoder just doesn’t cut it, I just encoded 1 hour of miniDV footage (.avi) to mpeg2 (6mb standard) and ended up with a 3 gig. file (video and audio elementary streams together). I have some experience with Canopus DV storm and know that rendering with the Canopus codec I was able to get better looking video at smaller file sizes. I’m also looking at Sonic’s SD 500 card-does anyone have any experience with this? What are the best tools for this kind of longform DVD authoring?
