Need to create something similar with C4D and AfterEffects
Really could use some help with this…

I do have the shape (one tile) as a Cinema 4d object
I need to set up a 9×11 array and then bounce them to a music clip.Can any one give me an idea how to do this?
I am fairly adept at AE but have never really worked with Cinema 4D.So please try to be as detailed as you can.

Put your tiles in a cloner, set the mode to Grid Array, and add a sound effector to affect position and rotation. Look for tutorials for using the sound effector like this:

No problem. We were all newbies at some point. I’m just a hobbyist myself.
Assuming you are using a CC version of AE, you can import a C4D file into After Effects and by adding it to a comp it will have Cineware in the effects menu.

Edit: use the standard “import file” command.
