    Hi everyone!

First of all I have to say that I am very new to the world of compression.

I need to create a PC compatable MPEG of my 50 minute sequence, to be used as a video reference in a pc based dubbing suite.

I am using FCP5 version 5.02. I created an MPEG file using: MPEG 1, under New Default Settings in the Compressor. The Dubbing Mixer could open this file but when he watched it thorugh the Tv monitor the quality was reduced alot.

Also, this Mpeg took 3 hours to create and it was around 800mb.

Is there an alternative? Can anybody help please. Am I better of creating a DVD (which I never did before)

PS. The Dubbing suite cant play Quick Time files 🙁

    Thanks

    Zee 🙂

I’m not clear on exactly what they want this for.
    Can you explain in detail?

Why not give them a DV tape and have them convert it into whatever format they want?

They could also play QuickTime (for PC) if they just downloaded it from Apple.

What format of video file do thay want: MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, AVI, etc. The list goes on. Just find out the exact specs of the file type they want and post back here.
