Need help in converting HDV footage on Sony FX1 (mini dv tape) to codec that Premiere can read on a PC. I tried loading in FCP 6 and using compressor to convert to H264 but it will take me way to long with over 6 hours of tape to compress. Is there a faster and better way to convert the HDV footage to a codec that Premiere will read and be able to edit with? Thanks for your help.

Hi Dave. Can you walk me through how to convert my hdv footage to ProRes HQ in FCP 6. What are my sequence and capture settings? I need to send the files on a hard drive to my client. I do not see ProRes HQ as one of my settings. Thank you so much for your help.
