Need to Change all Subtitles
Hi
I am a beginner for using Vegas Pro 8.0. Right now I need to make a video with English and Chinese subtitles. I use the “text” method and put both subtitles in an individual track n the video. However, my client want to change the fonts, position and size of the subtitles. So is there any method to change all the subtitles in one way or I need to change the subtitles one by one. It is a painful job to do this and I have more than 1000 text subtitles I need to redo. So please help for this situation. Thank you.

Right-click the first subtitle event and select “Apply formatting to selected tracks”.
In my experience though, you still should verify that each event did get modified correctly.
This is much quicker than doing each one by hand though 🙂 -

I try to do this but when I right click I cannot find the tab for “Apply Formatting to Selected tracks”. Right now I put all the Chinese and English subtitles in Vegas editing software not DVD Architect. So any method to change the subtitles in one time rather than one by one. Would you mind to tell me step by step. I try to find all tab and click all the icons and find nothing for this function. I feel so confused and panic because my deadline is approachiing. Thank you for your generous help. -

This is why you can’t find the menu item Mike is talking about. He is giving you instructions on how to do this in DVD Architect and you are doing it in Vegas. Real subtitles are done in DVD Architect not Vegas.

There is no method to apply formatting all at once in Vegas. You have a lot of editing to do one-by-one.
You might want to do this in DVD Architect where it’s supposed to be done. Otherwise you will have to render a separate video for each language and it may not all fit on a DVD.

Darn, this is exactly what I want to do. Isn’t there a script or plugin that could do such a thing?

Mark, as I said, this can be done, but only in DVD Architect.
