need to buy new heads!! please refer me to a seller
my panasonic dvx100a was hit by a pole on the tape deck side and now the message “auto off cylinder lock” comes up on the lcd. i took it to a shop and they shop said now that panasonic doesnt sell just a single head alone, but with a whole package that will cost 465 more dollars..
can someone please refer me to someone who can sell me a single head alone?!?!?!?! would be greatly appreciated.

Try another Panasonic Authorized repair center for their opinion.

Changing a video head is not a job for everybody.
The drums on those devices is barely 2 cm in diameter and sure they are not built to be replaced the heads: they are built to be replaced the whole drum in case of problems.
I bet would be cheaper to replace the whole drum than to fix a single head.
Anyway, if you love your camera, put it in the hand of a professional; don’t try to do it your self.
