Need to add a scene on side of vehicle door
Posted by Geri Bastian on November 24, 2015 at 8:24 pmHi, Need some advice on how to create an effect. I’m using Motion 5.2.1 and I have a shot of an expedition and I want to add a scene on the door. What is the best way to create this so it follows all the curves of the vehicle? Any advice is greatly appreciated
Thanks

November 25, 2015 at 9:51 amYou could simply use Motion’s corner-pin tracker, but I would personally opt for Coremelt’s TrackX and do it in FCP X where I’m assuming you’re doing the rest anyway, no? TrackX is not only much easier to handle, but the results will be much better more often than not.

November 25, 2015 at 2:52 pmThanks RK, but I’m looking for the video to also follow the indents in the middle of the door as well

Well, you’re not going to find anything IN or FOR Motion for that. Unless a displacement map is enough, which generally isn’t quite as elegant as say, a mesh-warp of sorts, which is what I’m assuming you’re thinking of.

Well, you’d have to MAKE it first. 😉
