need some understanding of getting video from t2i into sony vegas 8
I just got a canon t2i as a gift and have been shooting video with it. I need help understanding the process of getting it into vegas 8 so that I can edit it. Do I hook up the camera to the computer and import it that way? Do I have to put it on the computer from my sd card then convert it to another file? I am very confused. I read some information that says it has to be converted then another batch of information says it can go right into the timeline. If someone could guide me step by step or tell me a link to look at I would be ever so greatful. I am new to all of this and looking forward to diving into editing.
