I record clips on my Panasonic HVX onto my FS-100, my camera is set to video cam and I’m recording at 720p 25 on my FS-100 I’m set to DVCPRO.

So what I’m wondering is, why my QT compressor settings, inside my sequence settings are set to DVCPRO HD 720p50 and why I see 50 frames in a second instead of 25?

I know this is really basic stuff, but I wasn’t paying attention earlier!

    Many thanks for your help.

720p is a 50 frame (or 60 frame in NTSC land) format. Unless you chose 25pN, your footage will be 50 frames per second.

aha I see, thanks Shane, is there any advantage/disadvantage using 720p over PN?

[Roli Rivelino] ” is there any advantage/disadvantage using 720p over PN? “

Saves space. Allows for you to shoot great slow motion at 720p60. And if you deliver DVDs, or masters that are 23.98 than it is great. And having a Capture card that will add the proper pulldown when you output helps with the conversion too.
