I do a lot of Lightroom and Premiere with my Canon. But there’s one thing I am not sure is setting my internal effects. It is suggested that to have the best for post is to have the most neutral settings as possible. Granted I already do that, but I am not sure if those settings are ignored or embeded in Lightroom or Premiere.

I heard that RAW is neutral anyway so there’s no need to worry about those Canon effects. However I do a lot of movies too, and I am not sure if they preserve their neutrality values.

My camera effect settings are Sharpness, Contrasts, Saturation and Tone. I have set everything to 0, but all those settings except sharpness has balance going from -4 to 4.

My question is, for neutral, should I go to -4 or keep 0? And should I keep neutral for photos in RAW or it doesn’t matter as long I stay in RAW?

    thanks
