Need Help With Strobe/Flicker in Adobe Premiere CS4
Hello.
I am using Adobe Premiere CS4 and exporting using the media encoder (obviously). I am capturing footage on an HVX200 and P2 cards and it looks great when I have it in premiere. When I export it to h.264 or even mpeg-2 the footage ends up losing a significant amount of quality and also has a strobe or flicker effect. it looks very jerky and choppy and I can’t figure out why.
Is this something that could be caused by my frame rate during capture? I’ve read it could be an issue with field order, but I’ve tried both top and bottom.
Does anyone have any ideas for tweaks i could make to the settings?

What frame rate did you record in, was it progressive / interlaced ?
You project has to match the original frame rate, and so does your export.

I recorded it in 720p/30 frames a second. I exported it using the NTSC 29.97 frame rate. You’re saying that’s the problem?

That should be fine. And you are sure that your timeline is also 30P ?

Yes,
I import the footage into premiere cs4 using the P2 card presets that match my method of shooting. It looks great in premiere, it’s just the exports that suffer.
