Need help with poor text and graphic quality with AE QTs imported in FCP
I’m a new AE user. Can anyone please help me with this problem? When I create a text or graphic in AE with an alpha channel and try to import it in Final Cut Pro or Avid XDV, they end up looking pretty fuzzy or they have ragged edges.
I put my title or graphic in the render queue, and I pick a format in the output module that allows for an alpha channel.
This is how I set it up:
Quicktime
Animation (codec)
Channels: RGB + Alpha
Depth: millions of color+
Color: premultiplied with blackCan you help me with my quality issue please?

Try rendering to “straight” not “premultiplied”.

I know that this is an old post, but I have a related problem. I’m trying to export from AE to FCP DV-NTSC sequence. Boy, the text looks like dook. I noticed that the text I create inside of FCP using its generator looks a lot more crisp. Is there a work-around? I’ve tried various render and output settings, but FCP’s DV compression just kills the text and graphics. I also tried Natress’ low pass video filter, but even though he’s a genius, it doesn’t help.
Anyone?
