need help with color (solid) to transparent gradients for lower thirds…
I don’t know why I’m stuck on this, my brain isn’t working.
I am trying to create a cool looking lower third.
I have a texture layer (tinted to black and white) and my rectangle shape layer (for lower third) underneath it set to luma matte so it applies the texture to the shape, but the shape becomes semi transparent, so I duplicated the solid above it, put the ramp colors I like on it (black on top to red on the bottom) and set it to add so the texture shows through, BUT now I’m stuck on how to make the top of the Lower third transparent, but the bottom remain solid so it has a nice fade from a solid look to transparent so it isn’t so harsh. I put a mask in, but I know there’s gotta be a better, less messy way.
I probably went about all this the wrong way, so can someone tell me what the right way would be? Thanks all
