I’m editing a movie on Premiere Pro CS2.
My problem is that when I captured my video clip from the camera as seperated files on the computer, the files became really large, which I presume may be common. Now that I’m edeting the imported files on CS2, the prewiew screen laggs awfully much. Also when I export the finished movie it gets way to large to fit a 4.7GB dvd.

I would really appreciate if anyone can tell me the best way to make an almost 30 minutes long movie with deasent quallity fit on a 4.7GB DVD.

If it is not in HD and under 2 hours long then it should fit on a DVD just fine. My guess is that you are trying to export it as an AVI or WMV. These formats are way to big and will fill your HD real quick.

When you export your movie you need to export it as a Mpeg2 DVD. It will be in the settings when you choose export.

A good rule of thumb is to never hold files in a higher quality then you are going to output it as. When I first started I had an hour long movie that was over 189GB in file size. After converting all the video to DVD quality Quciktimes the same project now only takes up 3GB.
