    Hey guys,

bit stuck on a project atm. i have a reporter in a scene im working on, need to make up just a standard news banner for the bottom of the screen as she is talking, it all just needs to be nice and still. just wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction of some templates or a good guide for building one.

    cheers

You can design it yourself (called a lower third BTW), but that’s more of an After Effects project. You can also look at the Premiere titler for some basic templates. Or for something nice an easy (but not free) you can look at a site like Digital Juice.

It’s only a graphic, but ideally, one which you can alter
as needed – e.g. changing the name of the reporter.

You need to design it with a graphics app. which will support
layers and alpha channel info – Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro,
    etc.

If you’re designing it yourself… unless it’s for HD and/or
just digital, keep things broadcast safe by not using any
colour with a value about 233.

If you’ve only got basic graphic software design a banner
which doesn’t contain any colours – e.g. blue, green, black,
white – which its background does, that way you’ll be able to
use basic keying tools (in Prem) to get rid of the background
    during post.

If you want to be real pro, don’t frame your banner for 16:9
    video safe, frame for 14:9.
