Need help importing/copying P2 Media
Working on Mac OSX 10.4.11 Avid Media Composer 2.8.4
Any help would be greatly appreciated!I am working on a project with P2 media. We started with all our P2 media on 500GB Lacie drives, but were unable to import it from those drives. Since then we have undergone the tedious process of copying the P2 media onto internal drives and external 1TB Glyph drives. This has proved relatively successful for importing and we have been working that way since. Recently however we’ve encountered not being able to copy the P2 files itself onto another drive. We will attempt copying the folder that contains the CONTENTS folder and it will stop halfway with the error message: “The Finder cannot complete operations because some data in 1105jj.mxf could not be read or written- Error code -36” (We are just trying to copy from the Lacie onto an external Glyph hard drive. Also the entire folder we are trying to copy is 45 GB.)
We tried removing that MXF file and related files under that name, but that ended up being a bit of a disaster so we moved everything back. Is there a way to transfer ANY of the files in the CONTENTS folder and isolate this one file that may be corrupt? Any feedback would be VERY helpful. Thanks!!
