NEED HELP! DEADLINE! M 100 v 8.2.2 on G4 crashing during startup!!
When I turn on the mac it gets to the gray “apple” startup screen (dual monitors) and then shuts off. It’s happened before and I’ve opened up the mac and reseat the m100 card and it’s worked. Not this time, I’ve reseated the card 3 times and still doing it. Need some help quick!! Thanks.

1. Hold down the shift ket at startup and see if it will boot in “safe” mode. If it does, it’s a software issue.
2. In safe mode: run permissions & repair.
3. Use DISK WARRIOR to defrag your directory.
4. Use software update to get most thing up to date.
Maybe the above will work because it always does with me.

Disconnect everything — outboard arrays, etc. — and try starting up again. If that works, start adding things back until the problem crops up again. You might be able to isolate a piece of hardware where the problem resides. It’s a start.
