Need headset info for ‘ear prompter’
I’m working on a project where the talent doesn’t have time to memorize lines of script, nor do we have the budget for an adequate (pro) teleprompter. So I’m trying to improvise my own ‘ear prompter.’
I’m going to try having the talent read her lines into a Sony icd-ms515 digital recorder, and then train herself to repeat them into the camera/microphone as she hears them from the recorder.
My question is: Does anyone know of a good ‘ear plug’ headset that would be inconspicuous on camera?

TV reporter earpieces are freely available. They terminate in a 3.5mm jack. clear in ear fitting with clear plastic tube.

And as with anything, ear-prompter requires skill and practice. Do not expect cold reads.
As the ambient noise level increases, ear-prompter gets more difficult.
Small analog cassette recorders with speed and pitch control are also useful over digital recorders especially when the producer asks you to speed up or slow down the read.
