Need advice to bring an FCP7 project file to Sony Vegas 10 Pro
I have a 20 minutes long short film (rough cut) by a friend of the producer in FC7. This cut has no special effects or transitions, etc.
I like to edit this on Sony Vegas 10 Pro.
I tried to bring an EDL file with the standard options from FC7 to SV10. The file ended up with an extension of .edl, that I changed to .txt. When I opened it in SV10, I could not find any clips at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions as how to do this transfer? Thank you in advance!
P.S. I have been a lurker here for at least five years and this is my first post! I learned Sony Vegas basically from this forum!

I did not check that, but never know…
Did you have a look at the Vegas log files? they might contain relevant information about files not found, or other errors, leading to an empty result (log files are in [user]/AppData/Local/Sony/Vegas Pro/10.0)
Also, did you check with a text editor, that the contents of the EDL file is conform to expectations?

I opened the .txt file to see what is in it. I see clip information, etc, and it is not empty.
I have all the clips in the same folder. Sony Vegas tries to find the files it seems, but when the process is done, there is an empty timeline!
The other issue is do you know what are the suggested EDL settings to open a text file in Sony Vegas? The manual does not talk about it. If you have used Final Cut to export an EDL file, what settings did you use? Or, what would be the settings needed on an EDL file to be opened in Sony Vegas 10?
I am at a loss here!
I will look at the logfile tonight.
