  • Need advice putting a collection of DVD projects onto a single blu-ray

    Hi folks,

I’ve got about 10 dvd projects (all less than :30 minutes).
I’d like to get them on a single blu-ray, though I no longer have any master files from Vegas. I’ve got the TS folders from the actual dvd discs.

Can anyone recommend a way to introduce these into either Vegas or DVDA so I can create a master project? I’m not against putting them as individual elements in DVDA if needed.

I’m searching the archives on this too.

    As always, thank you.

I see now that DVDA can “insert media” the proper .VOB from the DVD.

The original DVD was 720x. Will the image retain that–at a minimum–being used in a 1080 project? I only ask because the DVDA preview window looks a little pixilated.

    thanks again

DVDA should not need to recompress your vob files, provided they are compatible. This means they just get copied over to your blue ray disc but become m2ts files. Then when the disc is played on a Blu-ray player it will upscale the video to 1080 just as it would if it was playing a DVD. At least that is my experience.

However it is important that the vob files correctly report their PAR and interlace status as this info is used when players upscale the video.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply.

I’m moving along adding them. I’ll report back when I’m done to see if I did things correctly.
