Tried installing the Sony PDZK-LT2 program, but made no difference.

What is recommended conversion method to ProRes?

I have been looking at HandBrake, VLC and aPubSoft.

    Thanks in advance,

I recently had to do this in order to ingest xdcam footage from SxS cards.

I don’t entirely remember specifically, but I installed a UDF driver, so my computer could see the SxS cards.

I also added drivers for XDcam codecs.

    Then I installed XDcam Transfer.

Now I can plug an SxS card directly into my mac, and FCPX will see it and allow me to ingest the footage, rewrapping it so there’s no needless transcoding. Very sweet.

I can also export mxf files out of our Sony media server, and use XDcam Transfer to rewrap the files to bring them into FCPX, again, without transcoding.

I remember it being a bit of a convoluted process to find all of these files, however once installed, everything is working file.

You can see which components you have installed by opening XDcam transfer, and under the help menu select “check for installed components”.

    Good luck
