Need advice on GoPro or C100 for night shoot
Hi there,
I currently do most of my filming on the Canon C100, which is also great for low light. However for this next shoot we were asked about I’m not sure if the c100 is the right choice. We understand it will not be scientific, but I was asked to simulate what a person would see at midnight at a specific area of town (street light or lack of light, blind spots around corners, etc.). This would be simple with the c100 (with a wide-angle lens) but the catch is that it needs to be simulated from the view-point of someone riding a bicycle at various (specific) speeds (on the sidewalk and on the street). I have a steadicam but riding an actual bike would be the easiest to create the speed and measure it.
A steadicam will be cumbersome on a bike. A GoPro would be perfect (I think), but I will need to control exposure. The only experience I have with a GoPro is an older Hero3. I know the Hero4 Black has manual exposure in photomode, but can anyone confirm whether I can adjust it in video mode? What about the Hero4 Silver? I just want to be sure I’m not overthinking this or making it more difficult (or worse, not doing the right way) than it should be.
Any advice?
Thank you!
