Need advice on animating 1000’s of layers.
Posted by Katie Dugan on January 15, 2013 at 4:27 pmI’m wondering if this is even possible.
I have a PSD file without a couple thousand layers. I’d like to animate them all off the screen, in random directions (optimally in 3D space.)How could I do this without having to individually move each layer one by one?

It may take a bit of trial and error, and also depend on just what your animation is doing. If they’re ultimately flying toward the camera, you of course want them to look good as they get close, but if the reverse is the case, you can probably kick down the resolution of your PSD file.

January 15, 2013 at 6:20 pmTHanks – The scripts John linked work perfectly. I’m lucky enough to be working on a machine that can handle such a task – but I’ll keep the other points in mind!
