  • Need advice, none of my plug ins are appearing in video effects?

    Hello CC

I have Sony Vegas Pro 11 installed on both my laptop and my desktop.
I have downloaded trials of both new blue fx and magic bullet looks but neither of them are in my video effects list on vegas.
The programs install fine with no warnings about graphics cards.
The laptop is an Acer 5732Z and the desktop is an i7 based homebuild using internal i7 graphics.
New blue and looks both install by default into a seperate location in C: drive which is strange, I thought it would install into a vegas folder?
So I reinstalled into Vegas, Video plugins but still no joy.

    Please advise?

    Hi,

Not an expert on New Blue and Magic Bullet, but if your plug-ins are OFXs, they should be located in the ‘c:program filescommon filesOFX’ folder.

So you may check if you have such a folder, and if you see .ofx files in its subfolders (especially in the 32 or 64 bit folder depending on your Vegas architecture): this will be a first indication.

Then, you might also have a look at the Vegas .log files, located in the Application Data folder of your [user] directory. You should have lines stating which plug-ins have been loaded, and details about errors if any have occurred.

    Hope this helps,
    Frederic

Thanks, the .dll file went on walkabout but I pasted it to the correct folder and now it works.
