Need advice for editing still images in FCP
A friend is shooting still images (one each minute) to show how our famous skijump arena Holmenkollen is teared down and built up again. He expects to use 700.000 images in his project, and he is looking for the best workflow with Mac and FinalCutPro. He is shooting each image as jpeg, and the size is about 5 Mbyte). – What do you suggest?
First, he needs to colour correct the images. Will Aperture, Lightroom or Photoshop be a suitable tool for this, or should he do it inside FinalCutPro?
He will probably pick one still image for each frame on the timeline in FCP. He did a test, and it seems that FCP is kneeling because the burden is too heave for FCP and the MacPro (8 Gbyte RAM). He first tried to use a HDV timeline, but FCP started to be very slow after a while.
What would be the best format for his timeline/sequence?
Any suggestion is very welcome!
