I was looking at the Datavideo DN 400 to record live conferences but discovered the M2T files are not compatible with FCP without conversion.

Is there another hard drive recorder out there that works best when ingesting into FCP? We are recording the output of our switcher. Need DV / HDV & analog compatibility.

    thanks

AJA KiPro. Records to ProRes and is directly importable into FCP, Avid MC5, Premiere…

Yes – the AJA would be my top choice. I should have clarified, the company I’m working for is cheap. They would prefer a lower price point. An alternative to Datavideo.

Hey, Shane, I like your podcast!

    thanks,

There’s one from Convergent Design…Flash Recorder. Look into that.

I gotta start the podcast again. Just need a sponsor.

The Convergent-Design Nano -flash is cheaper in price than the KI-Pro, but is not a “cheap” solution.
Is the only really PORTABLE high quality field recorder (records at higher data rate than the KI-Pro).
Have a look to the “Focus Enhacement FireStore”.
