Hi all: I am doing a very low, low budget project and I have to synch the audio myself in FCP. I have a combination of .wav files and .bwf recorded at 30 fps NDF (the sound recordists have verified this). When I import it directly into FCP, they show up as DF files. I also lose timecode, but I understand that there is a secondary application I have to purchase (BWFXML) to carry timecode. Is the conversion from NDF -> DF automatic or is this some setting I am missing?

I am hoping this won’t matter since I will be giving the sound people OMF’s directly from my project, but this seems odd. I am set to cut in a NDF sequence.

    Thanks…

FCP imports any “unknown” timecoded file as DF. But don’t let NDF and DF confuse you – they’re simply a way of counting and do not affect the audio in any way.
