Sorry I posted this in the Sony Vegas Forum, but it might really be only a very basic question I’m having and as I’m on a very tight schedule I try to address it here. ANY help greatly appreciated.

I do run Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 and Vegas 8 Pro on my Toshiba Laptop (no extra video memory) and already HD footage (mov) is playing back in Quicktime stuttering and interlacing.

Importing the footage into MSP and Vegas Pro, the problem persists.

I thought if I render the files to avi/wmv I might get around the problem and tried various settings with no improvement (stutter/ interlace/ no picture at all/ no sound – name it)…

    Q:

would I have to buy another program to convert all HD to SD and go from there? or
are there some settings in Vegas I can use to convert / render these files?

I’m quite confused about the settings anyway… I’d need to make promo videos and put them on youtube for some performers and honestly the frustration is cutting quite deep right now.

Thanks a lot for any helpful advice

    t
