I’ve been getting this error message within the 1st minute of running Premiere:

    [\dev\starsky\Backend\Src\Video\VideoSegment.cpp-40]

I’ve tried installing the program on different hard drives within the same system and running the program on that hard drive, but it doesn’t the fix the problem. The project files have always been on the same hard drive. Suggestions?

By the way, I’m running Premiere 1.5, and it’s a legitimate copy.

What type of media are you using?

I’m not sure how specific you want me to get, but I’m using Standard DV at 30fps, 32khz audio, and .avi format for all clips within the project timeline.

The first thing to look at with these type of errors is video card drivers, either go back in time, or get the newest ones, especially if you are using an NVidia. From what I’ve seen however, this error only comes up once and rarely, and a new capture usually fixes the problem.

Interesting, I am running an NVIDIA. I updated my drivers about six months ago, but only encountered the problem several weeks ago. I’ll try rolling back. Thanks,
