My Videos Went Missing, Literally, Out of Nowhere!
I can’t even being to fathom what happened to my video. I didn’t delete anything. I didn’t touch anything that had anything to do with the videos and now they’re gone! My supervisor is going to be here soon to see my work and the freakin’ video decided to go on vacation!
I checked the Trash and they’re not there. I searched the computer and and the external drive and they’re nowhere to be found.
Has this happened to anyone? Were you able to get your video back?

So I ended up doing what I was trying to avoid, recapturing. Still, if anyone knows why videos would just disappear please let me know.

Not sure what happened here. I can think of a couple possibilities.
1. You had an external drive you were capturing to, but it was not mounted. Later, you mounted it. When you did that, it “laid over top” of the original directory, this hiding your videos. I’ve seen that plenty of times.
2. You captured to something that is no longer mounted.
3. You captured to the wrong directory and that directory is not indexed via spotlight.
