Thanks Bouke! I\’ll check your generator out when I get back to work! Will it translate across to a machine that doesn\’t have the generator installed (if I send someone my project, for example)?

    Matt,
Probably not, since the project refers to the plugin.
But you can always have the other guy to install the plugin as well.
It comes with Subbits, the whole reason it’s in there is to lure people to try it and experience the speed of working with it vs entering your titles in FCP 🙂

And i promise to make more tutorial videos showing off the speed and ease.

a crosshair tool for moving the anchor point.

    The Distort Tool does that.

Hmmm, I\’m starting to think I should learn how to use the software before posting my feature wish list 😉

but seriously, it\’s always great to pick up new tricks, or be reminded of old ones! Hooray for the cow!

My #1 request would be to be able to set the scratch disc on a project by project basis. For people that travel with HDs from system to system this would be a life saver.

Then background rendering and multiprocessor for all apps.

    Michael,

Your wish is granted… Get yourself Preference Manager from https://www.DigitalRebellion.com . Simply save one set of prefs with each scratch disk and label them with your project name or any other name you wish.

    That’s a clever trick David.

I use pref manager. I don’t use it to it’s fullest, I’m sure. This is a really good idea to use it for workflow management. I just use it in cases of needing to trash pref’s or installing new drivers pushes out the old settings.

    Good post!

    Thanks Jason.

I you extrapolate a little, Pref. Manager has many different applications that it can be used for:

If a client always brings in their hard drive, create a set of prefs for them.

If you constantly switch between different formats, set up prefs for each format.

And, once you have them saved, whenever you need to trash prefs, if they get corrupt, you have many sets of good saved prefs to save the day.

    Happy New Year!!!

    David

Sorry David, that is not my wish, I would like that info to be with the project, I can change the scratch disc easy enough but only if I remember to and that is the problem. For people that work on a desktop and laptop via a FW drive, it is frustrating to pull the drive and ran, they open the project and find all the renders are back on your RAID system. Also if you work on a couple of projects at the same time this is no help.

I do use Pref Manager, great app as well as others by them but that is not my wish 🙂

I agree Michael, it’s yet another workaround that’s imperfect at best.

For sure no other NLE does this the way FCP does, it was a mistake that remains with us as one of the many legacies we have to live with until Apple breaks down and does a rewrite.
