Any avi clips I speed up on Sony Vegas just turn out black when rendered. Does anyone know why? wmv files work fine, but the majority of the footage I use is in avi format. Any ideas?

Which method do you use…”the velocity envelope” or
“holding down the ctrl key when you drag the clips edge” ?

Try using the velocity envelope method and lets know if
this problem still occurs….I found out that ctrl-drag
method sometimes does this due to the format the video
    is in on the timeline.

Steve, have you figured out what formats won’t work with ctrl-drag? I’ve never had a problem like this with with AVI clips.

Somtimes its seems to occur wrapped in the quicktime
format, using any of those not too popular codecs….
    (hard to say which).
