My project keep crashing when i open it

Try different methods of opening the file…..
Import/open from within vegas.
And with vegas close, right click on the file and
choose open with and choose Vegas.

Just make sure none of the original files that was used
in the project was not moved to another folder etc or deleted.

Well, I went to import then click media,then I went to files of type clicked on All files (*.*),and then I clicked on Myproject.veg.bak

Any veg file with a .bak extension is your backup project file, not the main one.
Look for Myproject.veg first and try loading that one.
It should be in the same folder as Myproject.veg.bak.
If not, do a search of your computer for it.
If you still can’t find it, rename Myproject.veg.bak to Myproject.veg and try opening that one.

If you still can’t open the project using the way Steve Rhoden suggested, try moving all media files used in the project to a sub folder so Vegas can’t find them.
When it asks for the missing media files during loading, show the new location one by one. If the hang is due to a media file, then it will hang once you import it. Once you detect the file causing the problem, skip loading that media and you’ll be able to open the project.
If it doesn’t load even you skip all media, then it might be a damaged/corrupted .VEG file. Try opening the .veg.bak file.
