Hi, I was attempting this tutorial on YouTube to make a spinning earth.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsYW_JbGwzc

Since there is no “roll” transform effect in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 I used offset on the video track below the matte which contains a still image of the earth.

After I apply the matte using the Track Matte Key, the whole globe moves along the screen. I want the circular matte to stay centered and I want the earth map to move along behind the matte. Is there another technique to do this so the matte layer stays put and lets the still image behind it move along?

I did find a work-around: make a video of the earth image moving along with the offset effect, and then import that back into the project. Is there an easier way to have a still image move along one track while the matte stays put in the track above? Thanks in advance for any help.

Rightclick on earthmap and Nest. Make the offset in the nested sequence.
Apply Track Matte Effect in main timeline to the Nested Sequence.

That did the trick. Thanks, Ann!
