  • My Markers Keep Moving on Speed Change

Posted by Ally Shore on July 31, 2009 at 10:40 pm

Has anyone had this problem? I set a number of markers on a clip. Later during the edit, I needed to change the speed on that source clip. When I set it back to the original speed, all of the markers had moved and many had vanished. Is that normal? Do I need to duplicate a clip every time I want to make a speed change without using the markers? Any ideas how to get the markers back?

    Thanks
    Ally

Must be using FCP 6 or earlier. This is normal. Markers now stay in sync with your clips in FCP 7.

    Steve,
thanks for the feedback. Do you know if it’s retro-active? If a clip is already screwed up from 6.06, will it go back into sync in 7.0?

Is there anyplace you know of to get more info on changes like this to 7 that don’t seem to show up on the “What’s New in 7” lists?

    thanks
    Ally

I don’t know if it’s retro active. I have not tried it.

Check out this pdf. search markers.
