My first M100 HD project
Kinda like “My First Sony” but more expensive…
I’ve had M100HD for awhile, but now have first opportunity to edit in actual HD. It’s not for broadcast (it’s a short university piece), and while the producer would like to see it posted in HD, I can finish in SD if I think it “wiser”.
Project was shot with Panasonic VariCam, 24p, 720p. I’ve got a Sony PVM 20L5/1 monitor, which will display HD via its analog component connectors (I don’t own the HD board for this monitor). Will be digitizing from a Panasonic HD deck. I’ve got a four-drive, 2-terabyte SATA raid set at Raid 0 (with a second 2-terabyte SATA raid for backing up). But I don’t have an HD tri-signal sync generator thingy (just a Horita black burst generator) and don’t have an HD waveform/vectorscope.
Am I “HD safe” in terms of an HD edit: digitizing, editing, and monitoring in HD? Are M100 HD’s software scopes OK for HD work? etc. etc.
Thanks for insights,
Larry Marshall
