So I’ve got a project for a friend that has the Sony HDR-TRG1 full HD camera that records to flash cards. And when hooked up to the dock, and connected via USB, on Intel Mac’s it should be as simple as doing a log and transfer. Which I have, a MacBook Pro, 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with 3 GB of RAM.

When I go to open the AVCHD folder on the flash card via the log and transfer window, I get a message saying that “AVCHD media is unsupported on PowerPC based hardware.”

Does anyone know how I can rectify this situation or if I should be calling Sony or Mac? FCP support or MacBook Pro support? If anyone has any ideas at all that would be a HUGE help!

    Thanks,
    Scott

Make a new folder and copy the files in their exact form off of the flash card, then try again.

You were right on point! I had it set to open in Rosetta, and thats why it must of thought it was a power pc. Once I unchecked it, everything worked like gold!

    Thanks Bret!
