For over 9 months I’ve had no problems with my Avid. I do proper maintenence on it, I think and suddenly it quit capturing… I got the message as follows:

    Exception: FATAL_ERROR, msg:AvDisposehandleMac: Not Mac2Win safe!!!, file:memrtnsMalloc.c, line 1110

Help;…. I’m on a deadline and will be up all night.

    I truely appreciate any help.

    Thanks,

Mac2Win is a porting tool used by Avid to enable the Mac and Windows version of the application to share common code. This looks like a memory allocation failure.

There are a couple of possible causes. A bug, although there is no mention of this error on Avid’s Knowledge Base. A bug within the Mac2Win code. A bug within Mac OS – which version are you using? Or a memory related hardware failure on your Mac.

Is this project larger than previous ones?

Have you done any hardware or software installs or updates recently?
