  • My Audio Will Not Show On The Timeline On Sony Vegas Pro 8.0

Ok i use Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 and i use Vdownloader to convert video’s from youtube into AVI’s so i can download them onto sony vegas. But my problem is that whenever i get onto sony vegas pro 8 and when i am making a video i will drag a clip onto my timeline and only the video will show but the audio will not show on the timeline. When i do this i can see the video but i cannot hear any sound. Also if i do this on my old regular windows movie maker it works perfectly. I have looked every where to find a solution but i got zip, can somebody please tell me whats wrong and if you have a website that will upload the missing audio codecs if thats what im missing or not.

Try a different download utility (there’s a lot of free ones out there) as the one you’re currently using makes AVIs that Vegas doesn’t like.

AVI’S are merely a wrapper and they can be encoded with any variation if codecs. Think of it as a box nicely wrapped but you have no idea of what is inside. Same idea.. Best to do what Mike suggests and find another download program. I happen to use Real Media and have had no problems with it but it is not free.
