My ATI X1800XT worse than my MacBook Pro card- what’s up?
Folks I have been working on a project on my macbook pro which has only 128 MB of video memory. I brought that motion project over to my G5 which has 256 MB video memory on the ATI card and it gave me that message about it only supporting a max resolution of 2048×2048. I am working with some large image files because of the zooms I have to do and I never had this issue with the macbook pro using my files that are larger than 2048. Both machines have preferences in Motion set exactly the same. The G5 breaks up my image.
What’s the deal?
My desktop config:
Motion 3
-Apple G5 dual 2 GHz/ 4 GB RAM/ ATI Radeon X1800XT/ ATI Radeon 9200
-The X1800XT powers both my apple 23″ display and 50″ Sony HD WEGA (but the tv isn’t on when I am doing motion work so there’s no memory issue)
-the other card is for a 17″ Apple LCD display
-Blackmagic Decklink Card
10.4.10Laptop Config:

MacBook Pro 2 Ghz Core Duo/ 1.5 GB RAM
