MXFs
Hi,
I am an assistant at an offline editing house. An editor recently was unable to load MXF files created by a DIT on set from Alexa rushes.
He spoke to someone who said that the problem was that the MFXs were not encoded using an Atom Wrapper codec.
Can anyone shed any light as to wether this is the case, or has anyone heard of this?
My first thought was that perhaps it might have been a PC to Mac issue?

Were these MXF’s encoded with AlexiCC? There was an issue with MC5 or 5.5 and MXF files generated by AlexiCC, if I recall correctly.
Simplest solution would be to ask them to encode to Quicktime (DNxHD), then AMA-link to those, then consolidate them into the system (just a copy, pretty fast).
