MXF re-sizing
When I import an MXF file to CS4 it gets re-sized. It was shot at 1280×720. Sony Vegas reads it fine, but CS4 re-sizes to 960×720.
Can’t export it as anything better than 720×576 using PAL widescreen.
Project size is 1280×720.
Anyone suffered this ?

960×720 is native size of P2 recorded MXF files. It is stretched out with a Pixel Aspect Ratio to show it to you as 1280×720. Sony Vegas seems to not show you the true recording information. I guarantee you the recording is not 1280×720. You are just being shown the true clip info.

Any idea why I can’t export at anything higher than 720×562 ?

Hi Rog,
What are you trying to export to? What is the Format you are exporting to? There are certain formats that have limitations on them for instance DV is limited and can’t be resized. NTSC and PAL have their own sizes but they can’t be changed.
More info about the exporting you are doing and wanting will help us all to find your solution.

This is my first venture into HD – as you may have guessed !
I would like the output quality to be as good as the files I am editing (960×720 in Premiere). Sounds like PAL widescreen is the limiting factor, whatever the project size.
To write to DVD in HD format, widescreen, for use in home DVD players are you able to recommend an export setting ?
